Tutoring Program

Saturdays  10:30 am- 1:30 pm

The Armand J. Brinkhaus Community Library is excited to announce the Saturday Tutoring Program has resumed. The program will run from September 1, 2018, through April 27, 2019.  The tutors for the program are Louisiana Board Certified educators, with a Reading Specialist among the group. We will also offer Math tutoring for grades 1-6 and 7-12 on alternating Saturdays. Bring whatever homework or assignments that are being worked on so that the teachers are able to help the students. Students are asked to arrive at the Library at 10:30 and will be dismissed at 1:30. We are asking parents to be punctual in dropping and picking up students. The program is open to Students in grades 1- 12 from our Library District: Sunset, Cankton, Grand Coteau, Arnaudville, and also all of St. Landry. Our primary focus is on English Language Arts, and Mathematics. The program is open to ten (10) students, in order to give needed attention.  Tutoring resumes Saturday, January 12, 2019

Friends of the Library have a mission to support the Armand J. Brinkhaus Community Library in any way we can. Let’s spread the word about the “hidden gem of Sunset.” New officers will be announced so don’t miss this special night!

Friends will provide the main dish and beverages for this “Mardi Gras” themed occasion and you bring in the side dishes and desserts.  It’s so good to visit with friends, eat good food and discuss ways to back our library. How about sharing a good thing? Bring a guest to the meeting. All are welcome!
